So, I attended the launch of the report titled "Engaging for Success: enhancing performance through employee engagement" produced by the BIS (the old BERR, who are the old DTI). A very well attended event with lots of senior practicioners, heads of industry, academics and Government folk. I love the fact that it creates more noise about this issue, but as David Mcleod put it (author of the report) "those who get it, talk with others who get it". We need the companies and leaders who still dont get it to get it. Get it! So how do you get someone to get it when they clearly dont get it, or even worse, know it but dont want to get it? I have an answer but lets see what you think...
