Question: "What are "implied terms" in a contract of employment?"

HR Tip:
They are terms that have not been expressed orally or in writing but nevertheless form part of the contract of employment. Some are general such as the duty of each party to take reasonable care of each other's property and to safeguard each other's confidences. Some are specific to particular trades such as the requirement for certain tradesmen to provide their own hand tools. They are terms that literally go without saying, but nevertheless need to be recognised by both employer and employees.
