Cezanne Software, the leading European supplier of integrated HR and talent management solutions, has today announced a new employee performance planning and appraisal module for its Cezanne OnDemand online HR software solution. First released in June 2011, Cezanne OnDemand already has an impressive customer base of small businesses and mid-sized enterprises, many of whom are well-known brands and innovators in their own markets.

The new module allows companies to raise the profile of performance management across the business and helps managers and employees to focus on achieving performance objectives.

Features include; tools to help businesses easily create on-line performance questionnaires and manage their distribution across the organisation; automatic routing of activities to employees and their line managers; and graphical dashboards that make it easier to track critical performance-related information.

In a challenging business environment, where the contribution of every employee counts, the new performance management module is a valuable tool that will help companies ensure their people know exactly what is expected of them - and that they are providing the support employees need to perform at their best. Improved visibility of processes and information will also mean that HR can easily make use of performance-related data to drive important HR decisions.

Julie Windsor, Director of Operations, UK & Benelux explains: “Although the vast majority of businesses do performance management, many are still using paper-based or online forms, and it is too often treated as an annual chore. Bits of paper documenting decisions about objectives and development needs get pushed to the back of a drawer and either never emerge – or are pulled out and dusted off a year later only to find that nothing has been actioned, and as a result nothing has changed.

“Of course no software product can replace a face-to-face conversation with employees – but automating the administration associated with the process saves time, avoids duplication and helps to ensure key performance review deadlines aren’t missed. And, as the system is online, information is much more accessible, so everyone involved can keep track of what’s been discussed and agreed.”

“It’s a straightforward, low-cost way for companies to streamline the processes they already have in place and ensure they are getting the best possible results for the business.”

About Cezanne OnDemand HR Software as a Service

Launched in June 2011, Cezanne OnDemand is the first HR software solution to be offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, with monthly fees being adjusted up – or down – to reflect the number of employees being managed. It provides small businesses and mid-sized enterprises with a quick to implement, low-cost HR software solution to help streamline people management, reduce administration and gather better HR intelligence to support planning and decision making.

It is provided on a Software-as-a-Service basis, which means it is hosted and delivered online via a secure server, with updates automatically provided to clients as they are released.  There’s no need for small businesses to continually invest in their own hardware or software, or in installing updates. They simply log on via the Internet and have immediate access to the latest version of the system from wherever they are.

Available in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French, Cezanne OnDemand offers a wide-range of features covering general HR administration, manager and employee self service, absence management and now employee performance management.

Clients include well-known brands and fast-growing companies such as PhotoBox, lowcostholidays, Octo, PebbleIT, Resilient Networks and Moschino.

Editor's Welcome

Hello! I'm a great believer in the power of stories, whether they be folk tales, novels, films or TV dramas.

They have a wonderful ability to get complex moral or social issues over to us in a palatable, easy-to-understand way and can provide many lessons if only we care to look just a little bit below the surface.

But they can also act as a fun starting point for discussion and debate on rather more serious topics that are all too often brushed under the carpet and ignored.

Hence our decision to start up a Review slot on the site to look at those everyday stories that are all around us from an HR perspective.

Although we've been publishing book reviews (take a look at our Book Club list of suggested possible non-fiction works for evaluation here) for some time, you may also have noticed that we've been running a weekly home page blog on The Apprentice courtesy of The Chemistry Group for a while now.

And Pauline Wood, managing director at specialist retail headhunter, court & spark consulting, was likewise kind enough to write our first film review on the Headhunters movie.

But the big question is, why don't you give it a go yourself? There's a world of choice out there and I, like the rest of the community, would love to hear your thoughts and insights.

So next time you watch a movie, see a TV drama or read a novel that you think has an HR message worth sharing, send your review to me at cath.everett@siftmedia.co.uk or post it directly to our blogs section at www.hrzone.co.uk/blogs.

So get critiquing and look forward to hearing from you very soon.....
