22 October 2009 – UK business applications software provider, COA Solutions (www.coasolutions.com), is a finalist in the payroll software provider of the year category of the prestigious Pay Awards 2009.

Run by Pay Magazine, the Pay Awards recognise and reward outstanding achievements within the UK payroll industry. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 3 November 2009 at BAFTA headquarters in London.

COA Solutions is one of five finalists in the payroll software provider of the year category. To reach the final, COA Solutions had to demonstrate product and service innovation within the past 18 months as well as customer satisfaction. A combination of user votes and the decisions of the Pay Awards judging panel, comprising five leading industry experts, will determine the award winner.

Chris Box, HCM Sales Manager from COA Solutions, says, “Over the past 18 months, we have invested heavily into our human capital management suite. This includes launching a number of solutions to meet the needs of SMEs, such as our ‘out of the box’ payroll solution, OpenPeople Lite, as well as our new managed and bureau services. It is reassuring that these investments as well as our high standards of customer service have been recognised by the Pay Awards judges.”

COA Solutions’ human capital management (HCM) suite comprises a range of solutions to help organisations effectively manage, analyse and streamline HR and payroll. With the increased investment into COA Solutions’ HCM portfolio in addition to the acquisition of HR provider, ASR Computers Ltd., in April 2008, COA Solutions has grown from being a niche HCM software company to one of the UK’s leading HCM software providers within just a few years.

Editor's Welcome

Hello! And welcome back as we enter 2012, with a busy year ahead of us all. With talk of double-dip recessions, a possible partial or even full break-up of the Eurozone and unemployment rates set to hit nearly 9%, topics such as organisational streamlining, staff resilience and talent management are likely to be on many an HR professional's lips over the next 12 months.

But to lighten the gloom here in the UK, we also have the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and its attendant public holidays to look forward to at the start of June. Followed by two weeks of Olympic Games from 27 July to 12 August and the Paralympics from 29 August to 9 September, each generating their own excitement, but also issues to work through for hard-pressed HR departments trying to sort out the multifarious staffing issues in advance.

So with an interesting but challenging year to come, HRZone promises to be with you, supporting you all the way and providing our usual insightful blend of news, analysis, community blogs and expert comment to help you sort the wheat from the chaff. As ever, we love to hear from you too so feel free to either post your words of wisdom to our blog section yourself or, in the case of longer, more in-depth ‘expert voice’ articles, drop me a line with any ideas to cath.everett@siftmedia.co.uk.....
